Amazing Bakeries and Restaurants in Paris, France

Last updated on November 21st, 2022 at 03:11 pm

Paris is one of my favorite metropolitan cities in the world to visit. There is so much to do and see that you could spend a week here and barely have scratched the surface. Even better, there are so many bakeries and restaurants throughout Paris, there is no end to the delicious goodies that can be enjoyed. If you ever find yourself in this fantastic city, be sure to check out some (or all) of these great eateries!

***For your convenience, I have divided this post into two sections. The first features Bakeries in Paris and second is dedicated to Restaurants in Paris.

***Disclaimer: Be sure to check the restrictions and regulations for entry into France as well as any activity you wish to participate in before booking any part of your journey.

Bakeries in Paris

Pâtisserie Blé Sucré

One of my biggest regrets in life is that I don’t life close enough to this bakery to eat these delicious morsels every single day. (Although, this is probably better for my waistline. 😛 ) In all seriousness, Blé Sucré has some of the absolute best pain au chocolat that I have ever eaten in my entire life. It was composed of perfect buttery, crispy, flaky layers and filled delicious chocolate.

Even if pain au chocolat is not one of your favorite things, be sure you buy a package of their fantastic madeleines. Trust me, you will not regret it. 😉

Boulangerie Utopie

Sadly, I did not get a single photo of Boulangerie Utopie nor of the delicious goodies that they sell. 🙁 But, this place is very popular and frequently has a line out of the door. They are particularly well known for their eclairs and their black sesame rolls. They also have all kinds of creative and interesting flavor varieties that you won’t want to miss!

Pâtisserie Aux Merveilleux de Fred in Paris

This incredible bakery has locations all throughout Paris as well as France. It is particularly famous for its merveilleux (which translates to “marvelous” in English). The name is no surprise because these marvelous treats are composed of light meringue and whipped cream covered in shavings of chocolate, coconut, or various other flavors.

However, my personal favorite is their delicious chocolate chip bread. They bake the bread continuously throughout the day. Chances are, you will be enveloped in its delicious scent before you’ve even entered the store. So be sure to pick up your own loaf of fresh bread (which is often still warm from the oven).

The Aux Merveilleux de Fred location we went to was located very close to the Moulin Rouge. If you want to go to the same one, please click here.

Pâtisserie Lenôtre on Victor Hugo

While Lenôtre has stores all across Paris, my friend swears that the one on Av. Victor Hugo is the best. They have a wide variety of macarons and other delicious treats. My friend’s favorite thing to get here is the lemon pie. Personally, I’m a sucker for macarons and they always have a wonderful selection to choose from.

Besties Bakery in Paris

If you are looking for something a little different from the typical French patisserie, check out Bestie’s Bakery! Here you will find donuts of all kinds of unique varieties. Additionally, this little shop has the cutest little pink phone booth which serves as a perfect place to snap a photo or two for Instagram.

Restaurants in Paris

Pink Mama Restaurant in Paris

The Pink Mamma is one of the most popular and instagram-able restaurants in Paris. Located in the 9th Arrondissement of Paris, it’s the perfect place to stop in after a visit to Sacré-Cœur (15 min walk) or on your way to the Moulin Rouge (5 min walk). If you are coming from a different part of Paris, the nearest subway stop would be Pigalle (2 min walk).

This restaurant is so popular, you will want to be sure to make your reservation a few weeks in advance. You can do this on their website. If you don’t have a reservation, they do offer first come, first served seating at the bar. But, the line for this will most likely extend down the street.

Alternatively, you can make a reservation for one of their sister restaurants in Paris.

Cafe Pavane Restaurant in Paris

This sweet little tea house is an absolute gem and super conveniently located right next to the Luxembourg Gardens. If you are looking for high quality tea, delicious pastries, and home-made specialties, Cafe Pavane is the place for you. It is a small place with a quaint atmosphere; perfect for lunches and afternoon teas.

Due to the limited seating, I recommend contacting them to make a reservation ahead of time.

La Pause Libanaise Restaurant in Paris

The joy of being in a great metropolitan city like Paris is that you have quick access to food from around the world. And the food at La Pause Libanaise was fresh, delicious, and oh so satisfying. The workers were also super friendly and helpful in explaining any and every dish on the menu. While it was very difficult to choose, we ended up getting a fantastic selection of appetizers including tabouli, stuffed vine leaves, falafel, hummus, and more. I would highly recommend all of it.

Restaurant Julo in Paris

Restaurant Julo, located in the 11th Arrondissement of Paris, is the perfect place for a relaxing evening after sightseeing. My friend and I loved it so much we ended up here TWICE! The parmesan chicken burger was so good, I ordered it both times. Even better, they have a fun variety of fun cocktails to choose from. (I especially loved the hibiscus mojito.) Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time on their website to secure your spot!

In Conclusion

I hope that this post has given you some great inspiration as you explore restaurants and bakeries in Paris. I’d also love to hear all about your favorite places to go in Paris, so leave me a comment down below. 🙂

Happy Travels,
<3 Christine
